General Provisions

This Policy defines the procedure for obtaining, recording, processing, accumulating, and storing information classified as personal data of users of the argument.media website (hereinafter – the “Website”) in accordance with the legislation of the Russian Federation.

The Policy is intended to inform Users about how, for what purposes, and to what extent personal data is processed.

Terms and Definitions

User — a natural person accessing information posted on the Website via the Internet.

Personal Data — any information relating directly or indirectly to an identified or identifiable natural person (data subject), for example, the combination of a user's name and email address or other data directly or indirectly related to a natural person.

Data Subject — a directly or indirectly identified or identifiable natural person. For example, a Website User.

Cookie File — a small piece of data that the Website requests from the User's device (computer, mobile phone, etc.). Cookie technology allows the Website to “remember” the User's actions or preferences. Cookie files are stored locally on the User's device.

Principles of Activity

Our activities are aimed at Russian users, citizens of the Russian Federation or persons residing in the territory of the Russian Federation, and are not aimed at making a profit or conducting other activities outside the territory of the Russian Federation, therefore we are guided by:

• The Constitution of the Russian Federation;
• Federal Law No. 152-FZ “On Personal Data” (hereinafter – 152-FZ);
• The Civil Code of the Russian Federation;
• Other laws and subordinate regulatory legal acts regulating the processing of personal data in the Russian Federation.

We are guided by the following principles

Legality. We process your data only under lawful conditions and by lawful means.

Fairness. Our activity is aimed at maintaining an optimal balance between our goals and interests and the interests, rights, and privacy of Data Subjects, Users.

Data Minimization. We collect and process only such data as is necessary to achieve the purposes of data processing.

Targeted Data Processing. We collect and process data for strictly defined purposes. The purposes of data processing are determined by us in advance and described in documents as specifically as possible.

Timeliness of Data Processing. We collect and process data within the timeframes determined by the purpose of data processing.

Data Confidentiality. We ensure data confidentiality and transfer data to third parties only in accordance with the legal grounds provided by law. We do not carry out cross-border data transfer.

Localization of Data Processing. We ensure the collection and processing of personal data using databases located on the territory of the Russian Federation.

Scope, Categories, and Purposes of Personal Data Processing

• For the purpose of sending news and information subscriptions to Users – email address.
• For the purpose of tracking User activity, analyzing User behavior, and ensuring the normal functioning of the Website, we use the AppMetrica service. This service collects various cookie files and provides us with aggregated information.

Legal Grounds and Methods of Personal Data Processing

We process personal data for the purposes indicated above on the basis of: clause 1, part 1, article 6 of 152-FZ, when we ask for the User's consent.

Personal data processing is carried out by automated means, as well as without the use of automation tools by collecting, recording, systematizing, accumulating, storing, clarifying, extracting, using, transferring, blocking, deleting, and destroying personal data.

When processing personal data, we undertake to

• Use personal data exclusively for the purposes specified in this Policy.
• Ensure the confidentiality of personal data, not disclose it without the User's prior permission, and not sell, exchange, publish, or disclose personal data by any other possible means.
• To ensure the protection of the User's personal data during their processing, take legal, organizational, and technical measures against unauthorized, unlawful, or accidental access to personal data.
• Block personal data related to the respective User from the moment of the User's or their legal representative's request or inquiry for the period of verification in case of detection of inaccurate personal data or unlawful actions.
• Cease processing personal data upon achieving the purpose of personal data processing or losing the need to achieve such purpose, and destroy personal data in the manner and cases provided by law.

User Rights

The User or another data subject has the right to send us an appeal if:

• They wish to receive information concerning the processing of their personal data, for example, confirmation of the fact of personal data processing, information about persons who have access to personal data, the procedure for the data subject to exercise the rights provided by 152-FZ.
• They believe that we are violating their rights during data processing, the data is being processed unlawfully, or the processed data is excessive or inaccurate.

Important Provisions

• In case of changes to the Policy, the current version of the Policy will be posted on the Website.
• We are unable to verify the relevance and accuracy of the information provided by Users. We assume that Users provide accurate and sufficient personal data.
• The new Privacy Policy comes into force from the moment it is posted on the Website, unless otherwise provided by the new version of the Privacy Policy.
• By using the Website, the User accepts the terms of this Policy. In case of disagreement with the terms of this Policy, the User has the right not to use the Website.
• Before filing a lawsuit in court for disputes arising from relations between the Website User and the Operator, it is mandatory to submit a claim (a written proposal for voluntary dispute resolution).
