Doctor of Economics, Professor at the Department of World Economy and World Finance, Faculty of International Economic Relations, Financial University under the Government of the Russian Federation. After defending his candidate dissertation, he worked from 1978 as a lecturer at the Department of International Monetary and Credit Relations at the Moscow Financial Institute. From 1983 to 1991, he headed the Department of World Economy and International Economic Organizations at the All-Union Research Institute of Complex Problems. From 1991 to 1997, he worked as Deputy Head of the Consulting and Training Center "Consultbankir". From 1997 to 2003, he headed the Department of Macroeconomic Research at the Research Institute of the Central Bank of the Russian Federation, and from 2003 to 2013 – the Department of International Financial and Economic Relations of the Bank of Russia. Since 2013, he has been a full-time professor at the Financial University. He has over 190 published scientific articles and monographs, as well as educational and methodological works. His most notable research is devoted to the theory and practice of European and Eurasian financial and economic integration, issues of the international financial market, research on the state of the Russian economy and finance, and the place, role, and prospects of Russia's participation in the system of international monetary, financial, and trade-economic relations.
