Olga Ergunova is a Candidate of Economic Sciences, Associate Professor at the Graduate School of Industrial Management of Peter the Great St. Petersburg Polytechnic University, expert of the Russian Academy of Sciences, and Executive Director of the Association of Women Scientists of BRICS+ countries.
She specializes in digital transformation of the economy, human capital management in the context of artificial intelligence implementation, as well as development strategies for megacities and urban ecosystems. She is the principal investigator of a Russian Science Foundation project dedicated to developing neural network solutions for managing social and labor relations in the digital economy of megacities.
Her research interests include AI-driven management, HR analytics, digital employment platforms, urban studies, and sustainable development. She is the author of nearly 200 scholarly publications and editor of international monographs on artificial intelligence, digital economy, and human resource management, published including by international academic publishers.
She has significant international experience: visiting professor at universities in India, China, and Peru, participant and speaker at international scientific conferences in BRICS+ countries. She works at the intersection of science, education, and global expert diplomacy, developing cooperation within the BRICS+ framework and international scientific networks.
She has over 20 years of professional experience in management, marketing, and digital projects—from academic environments to work with government and business structures. She teaches courses on strategic management, project management, and digital economy. She participates in developing regional and urban development strategies, including projects in tourism, creative industries, and sustainable territories. She leads professional and public initiatives aimed at developing human capital and international scientific cooperation. She is a laureate of national and international awards in education, science, and digital initiatives, including the "Golden Names of Higher Education" competition (2025).
OpinionPlatform-based work used to be considered a side hustle, but today it's a new structure in the labor market, not just temporary income. The key question is whether we'll manage to establish the rules before people are left alone to deal with algorithms.
